El maravilloso zorro de Darwin o Chilote (Lycalopex fulvipes) es una especie endémica de Chile y de los canidos más amenazados del mundo. Se estima una población cercana a los 1.500 individuos reproductivos. La pérdida de hábitat, el conflicto con la ganadería y los perros domésticos son sus principales amenazas.
