The #Huemul or #Güemul is the South #Andean #deer is an #endangered species and native to the mountains of #Chile and Argentina. The Huemul is part of Chile’s Coat of arms. Unfortunately the population status of this deer ? is critical with original populations suffering a 99% reduction! So spotting a Huemul is a true rarity and a truly humbling experience. They are majestic creatures and I wish authorities did more to protect this Chilean national treasure and emblem.
